Alison Beane
Executive Headteacher

A little about myself

I am Executive Headteacher of 3 Portsmouth special schools which for the Solent Academy Trust – Mary Rose Academy, Cliffdale Primary Academy and more recently Redwood Park Academy.  I moved down to Portsmouth from Buckinghamshire and eventually settled on the Isle of Wight.  I love travelling to work each day on the hovercraft.

I am married with three grown up children and I am very lucky to also have 4 lovely grandchildren. Now that I am executive headteacher of 3 schools I have to be honest that I don’t have too much leisure time.  When I do I enjoy exploring the Island and taking advantage of the beaches and country walks that are so easy to access.  I also decorate celebration cakes and love to cook.

What excites you about your role within the Academy?

I am just so proud and privileged to be the Executive Headteacher of such a wonderful group of schools.  They all have their own unique qualities as well as sharing the ethos and values of the Solent Academies Trust.  I am very proud of the achievements of our pupils and staff supported strongly by our families, carers and the wide range of partners with whom we have such good relationships.  I feel that we are going from strength to strength and that every day is exciting, challenging and fun!
