A little about myself

I am married and have a lovely dog called DJ. Being active has always been important to my family and we spend every opportunity we can to be outdoors, whether we are walking DJ across the Southdown’s or spending days at the beach. I love to travel and have had the opportunity to explore some fantastic countries around the world. While traveling I took up scuba diving and have seen so many fantastic animals from octopus to whale sharks!

I joined the Solent Academies Trust back in 2010 where I took on the role of Head of PE at Mary Rose Academy. It was such a fantastic opportunity to work in an establishment that puts PE and Sport at the heart of the school. As a Specialist Sports College I lead the team in moving practice forward to be innovative and challenging. So many opportunities arose from the partnership work with the youth Sports trust. Our most successful program has been the Watersports Hub.

What excites you about your role within the School/Academy?

While working within the SAT I have been fortunate to work across all 3 schools, Mary Rose Academy, Cliffdale Primary Academy and now Redwood Park Academy. I have had the opportunity to see young people progress from primary school, secondary school and into 6th form. The passion and the drive that is across the SAT makes working at Redwood Park and exciting and challenging place. We have a fantastic team of staff who thrive for the very best for all young people ensure that the pupils leave Redwood Park ready for their next phase in their life.
