Kim Radlett
Head of Learning for Key Stage 3

A little about myself

I joined Redwood Park Academy in September 2017 as Head of Learning for Key Stage 3 (curriculum), Year 7 and transition. Previously, I worked at Cliffdale Primary Academy for five years as Head of Learning for Key Stage 2 so I know a lot of our pupils! I trained as a primary school teacher and have worked in many Portsmouth mainstream schools as a maths specialist. I have lived in Portsmouth since 1998 and love being by the sea. I love music and art and spend a lot of my time trying to play the piano, viola and ukulele (badly!). I love to cook and watch films, especially ones that make me think.

What excites me about my role

My role is quite a new one at Redwood. It gives me the opportunity to work with the fantastic staff here to develop the curriculum to meet the changing needs and interests of our pupils. Year 7 is such an important year for the pupils and I enjoying helping them transition from their primary schools to Redwood. I also help coach staff to develop out teaching and learning further. I am a Specialist Leader of Education for Maths and SEN with the Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance and provide Outreach service to mainstream schools. I am also a facilitator on the Outstanding Teacher Programme. The most exciting part of my role is the pupils. They make my job fun and teach me something new every day!
