A little about myself
I was born in Sheffield, grew up in the Midlands and came to the South Coast to attend university at Portsmouth University, achieving a BSc Psychology Degree. I trained at Chichester University for my Primary PGCE and have been at Redwood Park ever since!
I have been a class teacher at Redwood for three and a half years and completed my NQT year at the school back in 2015. I have been at the school throughout the academisation process and have developed my practice throughout the process. I have recently taken on the Head of Learning for KS3 role, working closely with the class teams within years 7 to 9, ensuring we provide the best possible education for our young people.
What excites you about your role within the Academy?
I love working closely with class teams, developing new strategies and enhancing current approaches to push our practice forward and ensure the highest standard of education is on offer across the school. I love a challenge and my role requires me to problem-solve, think laterally, and not be afraid to try something new. The best part of the role however, is the daily opportunities I have to work with the most amazing people who all bring different experiences and skill sets to the school but all the have the wellbeing and best interests of our young people at the forefront of everything they do, and that is exciting and fulfilling!
