Castle conquer Cricket Festival

Castle class attended the Hampshire Cricket Festival on Wednesday 16th January.

They faced local schools Glenwood and Baycroft in a very close competition where the teams grew and developed as the tournament progressed.

Redwood started brightly against Baycroft with some accurate bowling and spritely fielding. They enjoyed a good batting display with some good, accurate shots.

Redwood then enjoyed a good test against Glenwood, who went on to win the festival. The accurate bowling continued with Redwood claiming 3 wickets. The batting performance continued to develop and saw the team score 3 boundaries.

Redwood finished in joint 2nd place and one that they should be really proud of against some strong opposition. Now time to get back to the training pitch and try and go one better in the next tournament. Go Team Redwood!

Mr Turner said “I am so impressed how quickly the team picked up the pace of play and how their skills rapidly improved through the tournament. For some, this was their first experience of cricket. But, I am even more impressed with the team’s attitude and how they worked together against strong opposition! Well done Castle Class!”
