The Key Stage 4 students have been working hard in their Creative Works option, following the syllabus for their Bronze Art Award
This term, they are focusing on actually taking part in an Art based activity.
Year 10 have been studying the Pop Artist Andy Warhol who was famous for his screen prints of various icons of the 60’s and 70’s, such as Marilyn Monroe and Mickey Mouse. They chose their own ‘icon’ from today’s world and recreated it in Warhol’s style.
Year 11 have been creating sculptures of the human body in movement. They began by creating a wire frame, then building the body using tinfoil and masking tape. Then they made a hard outer layer using Plaster of Paris bandage. The mannequins were then painted with bright colours in different patterns.
