As we entered the second half of the Spring term, KS3 classes took part in their second Modern Foreign Language day of the school year.

The language under the spotlight was German, a new language to many, and the focus was on navigation, transport, shops and services.

Pupils spent the day visiting different teachers and classrooms and taking part in hands on practical learning activities aimed at developing their understanding of the German language and the functional language associated with getting out and about in a German city.

Pupils enjoyed ‘Guess Who’ and ‘I Spy’ games,  ‘Das Auto’ car building and ‘RC Car Coding’ challenges amongst many others.

At assembly in the afternoon, learners were given the opportunity to share what they’d learnt and took part in a key stage-wide interactive quiz, testing their knowledge of German language and culture.

Castle class were the eventual winners in the hotly contested competition!
