This year the KS4 café is being run slightly differently.
Lunch at Willows has 2 sets of staff. The pupils work in the café on a Thursday for a half term and then the second group swap. This has been very interesting as the two groups have lots of different ideas. The café is run as an enterprise and life skills lesson which means that the pupils find the recipes, work out a schedule for the half term and then cook the 2 course meal on a Thursday to sell to staff at lunch time.
Both groups have been very successful so far, and have made a good amount of profit. The profit will be spent on the pupils who work in the café. They decide what they want to spend the money on but usually they decide to go out for lunch!
This year we have made lots of different dishes including, lasagne with garlic bread, tacos, fajitas, jacket potatoes and lots of cakes and desserts. The pupils enjoy the cooking but love serving the staff more!!
