July 20th saw the first ever music festival take place at Redwood!
‘Redfest18’ was the mastermind of the year 11 pupils who were taking part in their National Citizenship Programme. The group of year 11’s and other pupils from across the city and their NCS leaders all chose their social action project to take place at Redwood.
The day started with year 7 to 10 pupils taking part in activities such as DJ’ing, face painting, bouncy castle and playing sport in an inflatable arena. At lunch time the disco in the yurt started as did the live bands who came from the local area. Parents were then invited to the afternoon festival which saw staff bands playing, Ricky on his ukulele and a local folk band who bought their own 10 foot pirate!
The afternoon was rounded off with the announcement of this year’s team winners which was closely battled out throughout the year with Victory claiming first place for the second year running!
We would like to extend our thanks to Pompey in the Community and the NCS staff for making this such a fantastic day, bring on ‘Redfest19’!
