Redfest 19 was every bit as much of a success as it was in 2018 despite it taking part on one of the only days that it had rained this term!
Pupils had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities in the morning such as sponge the teacher, arts and crafts, face painting, samba drumming lessons, disco and playing on the inflatable gladiator ring.
From lunch time we then had live performances in the hall and a disco for pupils. We welcomed back the staff band and Ricky was his Ukelele to the stage but also had a new performer who was a loop peddle artist like Ed Sherarn.
At the end of the festival it was time for the big reveal of who had won the annual team competition which has been won by Victory for the past 2 years, could they win it again?!
The NCS leaders who help put on Redfest as part of one of their community social action projects with Redwood year 11 pupils created much tension with the big reveal with a science experiment this year. Hidden behind a screen where 4 volcanoes which then exploded to reveal that Discovery had won for 2019.
A massive thank you to Pompey in the Community and all of the staff involved with NCS for choosing us as their social action project and planning such an amazing Redfest with their groups of pupils from Redwood and other schools across the city.
