We're all familiar with the terms reduce, reuse and recycle and pupils at Redwood Park took this to another level this week.
As part of our whole school assembly, under the theme of Being kind to our Planet, we reminded ourselves about the importance of recycling by taking on the challenge of making sculptures out of recyclable materials.
Classes spent the week collecting recycled items and came together in assembly on Friday to create their art. The results were amazing! We had 'Jeffrey' the man made out of bottles, a rocket, a fire engine, a robot ( with moving parts!) and an outfit fit for any catwalk, to name but a few!
As well has having a distinctly creative feel to it and plenty of great team work skills we also reminded ourselves of the benefits of recycling. Did you know one tin can recycled can power a television for 3 hours? Amazing. And a reminder to us all of how important it is to recycle! Well done everyone!!
