9SH and 9AJ were super excited this week to be able to go to the D-Day museum in Southsea. They have been learning all about WWII in humanities and were looking forward to getting a real hands on feel to the equipment, costumes and vehicles that were used back in 1939!
We got to see some real armoured vehicles, some of the original uniforms they used and got to see lots of their maps and plans that they used. It was really interesting to watch some of the short films they had on show and look at some actual footage from WWII.
There were lots of really exciting hands on experiences where we could problem solve, recreate a picture of the fighter jets and look at the amazing Overlord Tapestry – all 272 foot of it!!
