Young Gardener of the Year

Young Gardener of the Year

Aiden Ennis: Royal Horticultural Society Young Gardener of the Year for KS3.

Last Saturday it was my honour to accompany Aiden to RHS Wisley for the Annual Young Gardener of the Year Awards. This prestigious event was hosted by BBC Gardener’s World presenter Francis Tophill.

Aiden, who was the national winner for his age group was presented with a framed certificate, a personalised engraved trowel, £200 in vouchers and met the judges. After the awards he was given a guided tour of the gardens at Wisley by a student gardener from the RHS before returning to the award hall for a luxurious afternoon tea.

Aiden thoroughly deserved his recognition having developed a wide range of practical gardening knowledge over the last three years, as well as improving his social and personal skills and learning to use the garden as peaceful and centring space.

Aiden’s entry video can be found at:

We hope you enjoy it, and agree with us and the judges that Aiden is truly a worthy Champion.
