Welcome to Kings Class one of our Key Stage 3 classes here at Redwood Park Academy.

Spring 2023

 

King’s class have really enjoyed their first term at Redwood. We’ve loved making new friends and trying all the different activities on offer at Redwood – especially swimming!

Our project topic this term has been ‘Your Country Needs You’ and before half term we found out about the World Wars. We played games in a blackout, made ration biscuits, designed parachutes and rafts to help soldiers, and dug our own mini trenches. In English we read two books about animals which helped humans during the war and enjoyed an author visit from Caroline Henton who had written her own book about animals in the war.

We have also really enjoyed our Outdoor Education sessions and have learned to light fires, build shelters and have worked together to rescue a mannequin with a broken leg! We’re looking forward to going offsite to visit local forests soon.
