I live in Emsworth and am currently Deputy Director of Finance at the University of Portsmouth where I've worked for over 20 years. I volunteer weekly at a local girl guiding unit and I am also a Magistrate with the Portsmouth Bench.
In my spare time, I socialise with friends, read and go walking if the weather's kind; I'm fortunate enough to live close to lots of excellent footpaths.

When I was around 11/12 years old, I was diagnosed with Autism. I really struggled at home and socially at school, the school I went to at the time was really unsupportive. My parents made the selfless decision to homeschool me. I was inspired to become a teacher because I had a difficult experience with school. I joined college at 14 completing my level 1 in childcare and health and social care. When I was 16, I started working in a nursery as an apprentice to complete my level 2 and 3 in Early Years. Having completed my childcare qualifications I have made the next steps in my career by becoming a teaching assistant at Redwood Park Academy, which I love!
My hobbies and interests include going to the gym and doing as many meters in the swimming pool as I possibly can. I also really enjoy getting swept away in romance books. I also really enjoy getting involved within my local church, were I help with being a eucharistic minister, reading and serving on the alter during Sunday mass.
I love being involved at Redwood by being active in the classrooms and making a difference with our young pupils when they need the support and extra care. I have lots of compassion, enthusiasm and support and look forward to sharing this with Redwood Park Academy Committee.

My name is Lauren Fairclough and I have a son who attends Redwood Park Academy and is thriving within the school.
Currently I work at Redwood Park Academy as a Teaching Assistant and have previously worked in other SEND schools, Care and Business.
I am a mother of 3 secondary school age children and love nothing more than watching them grow into independent young people. I am currently at University, undertaking a degree in Health and Social Care.
I am excited to become involved in different aspects of the school as a Parent Governor and hope to be able to continue to build on the foundations already in place which give our children a high quality and inclusive education they deserve.

I currently work as a Faculty Business Manager for Kings College
London, but live local to the school. In my current role I look after
Faculty budgets, HR processes, Health & Safety, business continuity
and some estate management.
I am very committed to building a world that is centred around the
principles of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. I chose to become a
Governor at Redwood Academy because of its vision for inclusive
education, and I wanted to be a part of shaping its future.
I have two toddlers who keep me very busy, but if I do happen to
have spare time, I love to lose myself in a good book.
