Author Visit

Key Stage 3 were really lucky to be visited by local author Caroline Henton on Monday. Caroline has written a book called 'Little Creatures' which is based on the ways that animals, and especially minibeasts, helped humans during the World Wars. It fitted really well with our project topic for this term, which is 'Your Country Needs You.' Caroline talked to us about how animals were helpful in the war, read us some extracts from her book and even brought some of the characters to visit us! We really enjoyed finding out facts about how insects were useful during the war. Did you know that spider's silk is so strong that it can deflect a bullet?
